Pride and Prejudice
兮尔
Nowadays, we always hear such a saying, "You can choose between
love and bread, which one will you choose? There are countless examples
in society that prove that marriage without love will eventually fail,
and whether love without bread can go on for a long time?" There
are also many such themes around us, like the TV series "Dwelling
Small" a few years ago, which profoundly reveals that love without
material basis is difficult to maintain, because people are always easy
to be tempted by material things, so for love and bread which is more
important, just like the chicken or the egg question, it is difficult to
have a correct answer, the real answer is often varies from person to
person. Therefore, the ultimate happiness of a person's life completely
depends on our different attitudes and values towards marriage and love.
Pride and Prejudice is a novel with love and marriage as the theme. The
background of the novel is in the bourgeois society at that time.
Through the narration of the wife of the little squire Bennet family
looking for a husband for her five daughters to be married, and the
combination of four young men and women, the novel shows the different
attitudes towards love and marriage among girls from the middle-class
family in the village. At the beginning of the novel, the reason why
Mrs. Bennet is anxious to find a husband for her daughter and the
dialogue between the hero also deeply reveal the essence of social
bourgeois marriage at that time - the transaction of money and the
combination of interests. As in ancient times, people should match their
families. The idea of family class has been deeply rooted in the hearts
of these so-called aristocrats. For them, marrying a woman with the
wrong family or family would only be laughed at and dishonored. So
marriage for them is just a comparison of family, there is no emotion is
not important. In the novel, Elizabeth is one of the two most
outstanding girls in the Bennet family. She is young and beautiful.
Different from her sisters , she has a more independent opinion on love.
She believes that love should not be simple material to decide, marriage
can not play with, can not because of simple quality temptation to
sacrifice their own life,at least she is not that kind of person who
will go to great lengths to please men in order to become some lady of
the manor. Although at that time, the marriage had to weigh the class
status of both sides and the powerful money situation, especially for
the family that had fallen down, the prospect of the five girls'
marriage was not clear, but Elizabeth, this witty, lively, bold,
far-sighted, dare to love and hate, has outstanding beauty and
extraordinary temperament and courage, and has a kind heart and the
courage to seek true love of the British gentleman Darcy, these two,
there is an obvious difference in the family, pride of the man, prejudice
of the woman,However, although the two have experienced a lot of grief
and joy together, but finally still eliminate misunderstanding, come
together, live a happy life. From this story, we can see that women’s
the pursuit of personality independence and equal rights,we can also see
the author Jane Austen's view of marriage that marriage based on
material things isn’t happy, it is foolish to marry for property, status
and money. Marrying without consideration of the above factors is also
foolish, she is opposed to both for money ,she also opposed to playing
with marriage, she emphasized the ideal marriage, ook emotion as the
foundation of marriage. After reading this novel, I can only say that
love is a beautiful thing. But if too rash and decide your own marriage
based on material things, will certainly destroy a lifetime of happiness,
so we must have principles in life, in the face of the temptation of
interests can not easily waver, must have your bottom line. Although
there are some so-called money worshipers in our society. But I still
believe that there will be perfect love in the world. As long as we use
sincere heart, we will find our own true happiness
