However, this book points out the root of many bad qualities of the
group in a frank and simple way. It believes that the accumulated wisdom
of the group is only stupid wisdom, not genius wisdom, just as the group
is not more intelligent than Voltaire, but Voltaire is more intelligent
than the whole world. After reading the whole book, the biggest feeling
is that the group is so blind and irrational, and this psychological
inferiority directly leads them to use mediocre intelligence to deal
with the current work. Although some of the views in this book have
certain limitations based on the special background of the times (the
French Revolution) and the academic background (the embryonic stage of
group psychology), a quiet reading will find that the discussion on the
characteristics of group psychology in the book still has an important
reference significance for us today.
