The Story of Mankind
Van Loon's "definition" of history is deep in my heart. He said that history is a story, nothing more than the experience of our ancestors in endless reproduction. I am sure that the lives of those who have fallen in love are full of human brilliance and historical mysteries that we do not know, as well as the pain and sweetness of being born together. When he was young, Van Loon often struggled to climb to the top of the tower of St. Lawrence's Church in Rotterdam, looking at the vast sky and the earth, and fascinated by the historical vicissitudes of the city under his feet. The tower is Fang Long's first glimpse of this vast world. For me, "The Story of Man" is the tower of the youth, giving me the first and most beautiful glimpse of this vast world.
