Readings
When I read this section of The Old Man and the Sea, I would regularly feel as if the old man was a big fish in the sea that had been through the ages, perhaps that is not an accurate description, or perhaps the old man is the sea, but it is the sea that has been through the ages. The old man's eyes are as old as time, as mentioned in the text, but they are as blue as the sea, pleasant and unruffled.
Both the old man and the child often use lies to modify the poor life, and the child's respect for the old man is even full of admiration; his faith in him continues to grow, and he continues to inspire him and look after him. I sometimes think that the old man is like a big fish, exhausted, but never yielding to the sea or the fisherman. The old man's body and strength are gradually shrinking, but the experience and skills he has accumulated over the years have given him the confidence that he can catch a big fish.
The old man always did things differently from others, he did things that others dared not think of doing, and although many did not understand him, he did them anyway. The old man had been through so much in the sea that when he caught a large mackerel, he too shouted with excitement. After more than two months of not catching a single fish, he began to talk to himself that it was a bad thing to talk at sea, as if it had become a virtue among all fishermen who went out to sea, but the old man was lonely and perhaps there were other external factors that contributed to the old man shouting the words in his heart The old man longed to meet the lost fish, for the big fish would surely be among them, and on the eighty-fifth day the old man used the big mackerel as bait, the sun behind his head, the coast away from him, and all he could see in his eyes was an endless sea and the green mountains.
The old man's efforts resulted in a marlin taking the old man's bait, and with a nimble grip on his reel, he used his experience and skill to battle the big fish hiding six hundred feet below the sea. The old man felt the weight of the big fish and slowly lowered the line in his hand. After some time, the old man decided to reel in the net, but the fish was also very spirited, and in the calm, uneventful water, the old man had a silent battle with the big fish. The old man's sweat dried up and his whole body was cold. Neither side could do anything about the other and they just spent time.
When I read this, I think that in our life, patience is actually very important, who has good patience, who will be able to laugh in the last, of course, confidence is also the basis, I saw from the body of the old man, will not give up until the purpose of the momentum, in the body of the big fish I also saw the spirit of never give in, and care about the two outside, not something else, is the human feelings, to be more accurate, should be sympathy. The fish did not decisively capsize the boat or pull the old man overboard but spent time with him, as if he was human, perhaps because the harsh reality forced him to learn a good way to compete with people, or perhaps because he simply had no way.
In the body of the fish, I saw the loyalty that is hard to see in human beings, when two male and female fish, one of them was caught, while the other was quietly watching over the other until the last look at each other and rushed into the deep sea, which is hard to see in our real life, just like the old saying "A couple is a bird in the same forest, but each one flies when the disaster comes. " Perhaps this is what is meant by cleverness.
The old man, on the boat, wished countless times that his children were there. He placed his bloodied hands in the sea and watched them slowly merge with the water, as if he wanted to turn himself into one with the sea. The old man had a self-talking conversation with his hands. After a long time, the fish rebelled and I saw an invisible force breaking through the water and attacking the old man's boat. The dead fish were attacked by sharks and became hard to survive as bodies. Finally, the big fish were all eaten and the old man reached the other side ......
The old man dreams of lions at the end. Looking back on the whole piece, the old man is old, but he is full of confidence that he will definitely catch the big fish, and the result gives him a proof, a proof that he is a strong man in the sea.
