Les Miserables
苏航
The book 'Les Miserables' can be called an' encyclopedia 'of human
suffering. All misfortunes in the world are collectively referred to as
suffering by Hugo. The author presents to us in this book the universal
suffering of humanity. Perhaps what he devoted more to in 'Les
Miserables' was his own longing for goodness and pursuit of love. The
stories told by Hugo are not novel, but it is precisely because behind
these stories lies the author's concern for the fate of human suffering
and unwavering belief in the future that this book has a moving power
that ordinary novels do not possess.
