传媒艺术学院 《悲惨世界》刘苗
This film taught me about the desolation of human nature and the suffering of poverty. Jean Valjean, who couldn't even eat enough, went through 19 years of hard labor and, with the help of his "faith," gradually reversed and changed his life.
It is well known that in any country, it is through wars and a series of reforms that prosperity can be achieved today. However, in an era where children were abused due to hunger and crime, and wealthy people did not treat the poor as human beings, peace has come from generation to generation.
Jean Valjean was sentenced to 19 years for not being willing to let his sister's child starve to death, and for stealing a piece of bread. At the age of 17, Jean Valjean spent a long 19 years in this dark and hard labor life.
He, who was released from prison, carried a "convict" who could not be thrown away, and was heavily suppressed. In such an environment, he no longer had the mentality of being a good person. But just as Jean Valjean was wandering in despair, a priest gave him hope.
The priest not only took Jean Valjean in, but also gave him a pair of silverware, which saved him. The priest gave Jean Valjean hope.
It is said that laws and rules can constrain a person's virtue, but love can save a person's soul.
The priest changed Jean Valjean with his words and actions, allowing him to have the courage to start a new life. Under his constant cultivation, he worked even harder and gained the love of the people, becoming a respected mayor!
The reason why "Les Miserables" is tragic is not only due to material limitations, but also a spiritual distress. The deep-rooted class ideology has led Sheriff Javert to keep a close eye on Jean Valjean and the female worker Fantine, believing that Jean Valjean cannot improve and claiming that Fantine has an affair with the nobility. Why? Just because they are the lowest level people.
Although life was still difficult, Jean Valjean never forgot his heart. Jean Valjean, who had the status of a convict, had been saving people in distress ever since he was saved. No matter what era, there are many people who are treated unfairly by life. In that era, even more so, they not only have to endure the unfairness brought by life, but also the differential treatment brought by others. Under the influence of the priest, Jean Valjean always maintained his kindness, no matter what happened, which was why he won the love of the people.
Overall, Jean Valjean's change and perseverance were undoubtedly very surprising. From the despised convict to the beloved mayor, Jean Valjean continued his kindness and love. Whether Jean Valjean managed to save him under the treatment of Sheriff Javert or when he was about to be killed, he risked his life. Therefore, people can be changed, as long as they have faith, can see the light, and always maintain themselves.
