At first,the author highlight the weird atmosphere throughout the story.It seems a little horrible when the young girl had colic again.At last,the story ended dramatically,with the old man's reply"I was waiting for the streetcar."But there's a lot to analyse.Why did he wait so many years for a streetcar?Is this indicating that he abandoned his family before and came back due to guilt?
