The Aims of Educatio
爱学习的干饭王
A person who only knows a lot is just the most useless and annoying
person in the world. The significance of education is definitely not to
teach people only to master knowledge, but to teach people the art of
how to apply knowledge, which is a difficult art to impart. As Mencius
said, "My life also has limits, and knowledge has no limits. With
limits, it is almost impossible. To apply what has been learned and to
apply it through practical experience, one should not let knowledge
become a flower fist and embroidered leg.Knowing that one cannot do it
is equivalent to not knowing. Knowledge is the beginning of action, and
action is the end of knowledge. Learning without thinking is waste,
thinking without learning is perilous. The essence of education lies in
its devout religious nature: it teaches the educated to have a sense of
responsibility and reverence, and responsibility comes from our
potential control over the development of things. When the knowledge
learned can change the outcome of a thing, ignorance becomes a sin.
