my book review
沈东来
"The Time Machine" is a thought experiment in the late
nineteenth century, and after a thrilling time journey, readers and
unknown storytellers return to the normal timeline to reflect on the
profound impact that social and political culture may have. From the
development of the story, the novel is pessimistic about the future, but
unlike the irrational negativity at the end of the century, Wells
believes that the situation goes in the better direction before it gets
worse. This is particularly critical right now. In fact, everyone is
traveling in time, measuring their position in the universe in terms of
time, only in a slow lane. In the second decade of the new century, we
are facing a similar situation with the readers of more than a hundred
years ago. Technology is changing the world, but also shaping people's
understanding of the world. We have the knowledge and technical skills
we have accumulated to date, so we should think about where each
decision will go. Fortunately, the time is still changing and the future
has yet to be determined. Wells envisioned the worst scenario, making it
possible to avoid a tragic fate —— This is what all science fiction has
in common.
