A very short story

Another sad story,another bad ending,Even though the boy and the girl was engaged,they didn't get married.I don't know if the man loved the girl,but I can promise that the girl loved the man very much.The background is the war,but we can't feel the darkness in the girl's life.The man's ending was surprised me.
