"Time Machine" is a science fiction novel written by H.G.Wells
in 1895. The novel is one of the earliest example of time travel and has
been a source of inspiration for many science fiction movies, books and
stories ever since. The story revolves around an inventor, who has
created a time machine with which he travels to the future. He
discovers a world vastly different from his own, where humanity has
evolved into two different species, the Eloi and the Morlocks. The Eloi,
peaceful and innocent, live above ground while the Morlocks, savage and
brutish, live in underground tunnels. As the novel progresses, the
protagonist finds himself struggling to save his life as he gets
entangled in the world of these two species. The book is a classic and
has been widely appreciated for its imaginative portrayal of a future
world. The story is well-crafted, enthralling and full of suspense. The
vivid descriptions of the world and the characters make the reader feel
as though they are present in that world and witnessing the events along
with the protagonist. One of the most notable aspects of the book is the
social commentary it makes on the world of the Victorian era. Wells uses
the divide between the Eloi and the Morlocks to make a statement on the
class divide of the society. The Eloi represent the upper class, while
the Morlocks represent the working class. This metaphorical
representation of class division has been appreciated by critics and is
a testament to H.G. Wells' intellect and creativity. In conclusion,
"Time Machine" is a masterpiece of science fiction literature
that has stood the test of time.It is a must-read for anyone interested
in science fiction or the Victorian era. H.G. Wells' storytelling
abilities and social commentary skills are on full display in this book,
making it an essential contribution to the world of literature.
