Some Thoughts After Reading

It is quite hard to capture such a pessimistic tone in Mark Twain's work. I guess the story was created in his late years when his writing style transmitted from an optimistic style into sentimental one. But we can still catch some insights from this passage. When all the glory, fame and love have passed away with time, only death is the gift always awaiting for people. Let's cherish the boon as we cherish life.
