The book was written by Oscar Wilde, an English writer born in the 19th
century. In this book, the author tells us seven fairy tales, each of
which is very exciting and touching. Among them are the regrettable
nightingale, the admirable merry prince, and the moving swallow, the
selfish giant turned generous, and the loyal miller, and the pretentious
rocket, and the young king roused from his dream, and the child of the
star, after suffering all the world, finally became a butterfly. It can
be seen that living in the period of British capitalism at that time,
the author was deeply influenced by the social view of money at that
time. People become a machine in pursuit of fame and money, and forget
their own lives, and the family, friendship and love in life are
replaced by naked money. Such a way of life, the author throughout the
book through different stories, in each image embodied incisively and
vividly, as if this is not just a fairy tale book, but should be the
most straightforward cry of Wilde's heart. I believe that if this is a
fairy tale book, it must be a fairy tale book for adults. The author
seems to be integrated with nature, birds, trees, flowers, wind, snow,
dew, frost are his writing objects, and personifying them seems to
reflect some of the author's inner demands. The author's values were
incompatible with the society that was full of money at that time, which
also reflected the author's inner loneliness and desire for friendship.
In fact, my own values are slowly changing, and I am a little surprised.
As we go deeper and deeper into modern urban life, some of our emotional
parts are slowly being repressed and becoming more and more rational, we
become independent, we become silent, and gradually we become an
emotionless robot. We become tense, we become numb, we have no sense of
humor in our lives, we become more and more dull, we lack vitality, it
is because we are often distracted, too much addicted to the future
life, too many goals in mind, but these goals are too big, too vague,
every day we are busy choosing, which causes us to not live in the present.
