A Very Sad story

It is a very short story but also a very sad story written by Ernest Hemingway.
In the story, a World War I soldier and a nurse named "Luz" fall in love as she tends to him over the course of three months in the hospital. They decide to marry, but when the soldier returns home to the United States, he receives a letter from Luz with the news that she has fallen in love with an officer. Later she writes that she has not married, but the soldier ignores her. The soldier contracts gonorrhea in a taxi from a sexual encounter shortly afterward.
The nurse and soldier used to love each other in those hard times.But it was the war that set them apart and deprive their love.World War I may create thousands of sad stories like this one.
