How to shy away from the wicke

after reading the novel, what impress me most is one sentence, that is “ when a girl leaves her home at eighteen, she does one of two things. either she falls into saving hands and becomes better, nor she rapidly assumes the cosmopolitan standard of virtue and becomes worse.”as a typical example of those people who want to get rid of their miserable country life and go into big city to persue their dream of fame, wealth,step into upper class of society and enjoy all kinds of pleasure. carrie's destiny was somewhat implied in this sentence. escaping one means falling into the other. after she went to chicago, she could not find a job at first, even if she found a job later, she was only to find out that such a low income was far away enough, she could not even buy herself a coat to go throught the cold winter. so she caught a disease,she lost her job. she got nothing to do but kept complaining about the reality. the consequence of all of these was that she made a choice to become the mistress of Drouet,the salesman carrie encountered on the train to Chicago. the cruel reality was not as wonderful as what she had expected. apparently, Carrie had bacame worse in some lever. here, I really want to share us with some of my own experience and give my opinion about that. I used to have a conversation with my classmate, Anna, that how people can keep themselves being polluted by the world. we talked a lot, of course. finally, I came to a conclusion to myself that there is no means we can change the way the world is going, but we can be ourselves while the world is changing. we plant a unwavering conviction deep in our heart, we keep living and learning,but never lose our faith. we just learn something good that can chang us for the better, but what is paramount importance is to keep that faith, never shake it. that is my acquisition from the book and my perspective about this scenario.
