Love and hate
党慧
The book is regarded as the most outstanding masterpiece describing the
French Revolution. In the dack capitalist society, the peasantry and the
workers endured the ruthless exploitation of the bourgeisie. After
reading, the anger, touched, gratified, filled my heart. I was shocked
by the sheer force of the revolutionary masses rising up against them
and outraged by their indiscriminate acts of revenge as the revolution
progressed, but what struck me most about the novel was the stark
constrast between love and hate. Some people give their lives for love,
some people find themselves in the love of their daughters and the
company of their friends; Others lose their minds in the flames of
revenge and try to warm themselves with the blood of others. Blood can't
heal the pain, but love can. Love is often much more powerful than hate.
