《简爱》读后感
In October 1847, a book titled Charlotte was published in England. Bronte's novel "Jane Eyre" caused a sensation and became a timeless masterpiece. This summer, I watched it all in one go.
In my mind, Jane Eyre is a perfect and great work, because it taught me what good, evil, beauty, and ugliness are, and how to be a good person. The protagonist Jane Eyre in the book is my role model to learn from. Her intelligence, kindness, strength, and independence are the most admirable. Jane Eyre's life was full of ups and downs. She has encountered many setbacks, which can be said to be unfortunate, but she never bows to fate, and any difficulty in front of her will feel fear. Jane Eyre's parents died early when she was young, and she was sent to her uncle's house. However, her uncle also passed away soon after, so she had to live with her aunt and suffered from her abuse. And her uncle's son, John Reed, is also a fat, big, unreasonable, and less like a pig or a dog. He often beats and scolds Jane Eyre for no reason, but her aunt not only refuses to stop her, but also supports her savage son. However, Jane Eyre is a tenacious person who never bows down to evil forces. She couldn't bear it anymore. Her hatred towards John overwhelmed her fear of him, and she fought against him at all costs. Of course, it can be imagined that Jane Eyre was punished by her aunt. But this action was enough to make John tremble with fear. My aunt grew increasingly disgusted with her, so she sent her to the Lowood Church School. The children there suffer from cold, hunger, poor food, and many punishments. The living environment there was unhygienic, and as a result, typhus took the lives of many orphans. Jane Eyre hates it there. Eight years later, she resolutely left there and went to Sanfield to become a governess for Mr. Rochester's daughter
In Thornfield, she pursues self-esteem, self love, strength, and bravery. In response to Rochester's contempt, she said, "Do you think because I am poor, humble, short, and not beautiful, I have no soul or heart?" Although she loved Rochester, when she thought Mr. Rochester was going to marry Ingram and wanted to keep her, She angrily said, "Do you think I will stay and become your insignificant person? Do you think I am an automatic machine? A machine code without emotions? We are equal!" Jane Eyre is a strong person and also a person who relies on personal struggle. All she thinks about is how to achieve an equal status in society. She has dignity and strives to maintain her dignity.
Holding Jane Eyre in my arms, I deeply understand that I should live strong and strive to live.
