After Reading “Eating up Mista

The author shares his first cook which happened in the summer before he became a university student. The first cook was quite bad that both eggplant and garlic didn’t taste good. But he believes that failure is the mother of success, which encourages him to go on. And he made it. Finally, it allowed the author to choose to cook for himself after experiencing the food that the school serves.

 In the beginning, when I saw the Chinese title I thought it should be an article about a successful experience of cooking. However, the experience was so terrible. Because of adding too much soy sauce and salt, the eggplant was not only blackened but also salty. Although the author took it seriously, only one bite can beat him. But he didn’t give up. The next day he tried again and this time he really made eggplant quite good. What he can’t believe more is an old saying that failure is the mother of success, so do I. I think that one person who dares to face the failure and try again is so great. Trying again shows the optimism and the perseverance that we have. It is normal that things are not as planned, but we human beings are supposed to be strong enough to handle the things. There is a song called “I believe I can fly”, which encourages people to be brave. In my opinion, the first cook also needs such a belief.

 “A taste of home” also heats me. When we grow up, we usually leave our hometown for a big city to go to college. At the same time, we begin to be away from the taste of home. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always in the dining hall, which makes it unnecessary to cook for yourself. But the author changed it. Although the main reason is his dining hall really tastes bad, he prefers the taste that he makes on his own. Actually, because we are from all over the country or even the world, it’s not easy for the dining hall to bring us the taste of home. When we choose to cook for ourselves, it is more possible for us to taste “the taste of home”. The author inspired me to choose one day to cook for myself which could give me an opportunity to enjoy the miss.

 As far as I am concerned, cooking is an interesting activity that we should enjoy. I am so happy to find that the author has the same idea. Maybe we would have a really terrible first cook, but it is also meaningful. And as an old saying goes, practicing makes perfect. I believe that once we try our best to do it, it must be better and better in the following days. Cooking is really interesting that brings you not only food but also the sense of satisfaction and achievement.

 In a word, I manage to feel the magic of cooking. And maybe I will choose to make eggplant in a few days!
