Frankenstein Level 3
徐樱
As an epoch-making science fiction, Frankenstein has attracted the
attention of countless readers for its unique theme and profound
connotation since it was written by Mary Shelley in 1818. In this
review, I will take a close look at the third level of this work from a
number of perspectives. I. Overview of the Work and Introduction of
Level 3 "Frankenstein: The Story of the Modern Prometheus"
tells the story of Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a monster
through illegal experiments, but ultimately falls into tragedy when he
is unable to control its powers. As an important part of the novel, the
third level marks the turning point of the relationship between
Frankenstein and the monster, and also the climax of the emotional
conflict in the whole story. II. Plot Development and Characterization
in the Third Level In Level 3, Frankenstein's monster begins to reveal
its complex inner world. He longs to be accepted and understood, but
because of his ugly appearance and horrible behavior, he is rejected by
human society. Feeling lonely and misunderstood, the monster gradually
takes a path of revenge. At the same time, Frankenstein himself
undergoes psychological changes in this level, from confidence to
despair. He thought he could control everything, but the appearance of
the monster made him realize his insignificance and powerlessness. III.
Thematic Deepening and Symbolism in the Third Level In the third level,
the theme of the novel is further deepened. The author explores complex
issues of science, morality and responsibility through the conflict
between Frankenstein and the monster. Frankenstein's creation symbolizes
the exploration of the unknown world and the pursuit of power, but it
also exposes the lack of scientific ethics and the weakness of human
nature. The monster is a direct reflection of these flaws and
weaknesses, both a product of Frankenstein's scientific experiments and
a projection of the dark side of human nature. In addition, Level 3
explores the themes of loneliness, love and being loved through the
relationship between the monster and Frankenstein. The monster longs for
Frankenstein's love and acceptance, but Frankenstein's avoidance and
rejection plunge him deeper into loneliness. This loneliness not only
intensifies the monster's pain and anger, but also makes him more
determined to take revenge. IV. Artistic Features and Literary Value of
Level III In Level 3, the author, Mary Shelley, shows her remarkable
literary talent. Through her delicate brushwork and rich imagination,
she has created vivid and complex characters. At the same time, she also
cleverly uses symbols, metaphors and other rhetorical devices, making
the theme of the novel more profound and the moral more abundant. In
addition, the third level of the plot is tight, fast-paced, so that the
reader can always maintain a high level of tension and curiosity in the
reading process. On the whole, the third level of Frankenstein is a
work with profound connotation and high artistic value. It not only
presents us with a thrilling storyline, but also gives us a deeper
understanding of the complexity and diversity of human nature while
thinking about issues such as science, morality, and responsibility.
