At length I finished reading The Little Prince for the second time and got the radically new ideas from it.I read its Chinese version in Senior 3,killing the tense time.It was nothing special for me at that time,who had ever read various kinds of stories written for children when I was still a kid.But for this time,after thinking twice and searching for its futher explanations online,my opinions have totally changed.
To better sum up,we usually say that it’s a book about traveling among asteroids.But this description can’t correctly cover the whole story,it’s more likely to be a story of rethinking,about what love is and what the responsibility stands for.If you merely pay attention to those cute ideas like cleaning the volcanoes,then it’s an ordinary story for the ones who are avid of novelty.
Except some apparent impressions it brought as nearly everyone mentions the love from rose and the loss of childishness in his comments ,what drives me to deep to think more firstly is the fox’words.Why does it use “tame”,which sounds neither scientific nor positively accurate,to describe the bond between friends?We often use”tame”when we give orders to make our livestock whom we won’t regard as friends.Later I try to find its correct explanations by myself:making good friends which means you will devote part of yourself to truly manage a friendship.Sometimes you even dedicate without the aim of your personal benefits,which makes you act like a knight who draws his sword when his king,who is actually his friend,asking for his help.Out of the kindness and the loyalty towards our friendship,we urge ourselves to complete some tasks as if we are tamed servants and we possess the responsibility to overcome the obstacles for our friends.
There’s no doubt that The Little Prince is highly preferred all over the world ,especially in France,as they once used the portrait of the author and the image of The Little Prince on their paper money.But depart from the points I mentioned above,what makes it so famous and loved by the mainstream for so many years？That’s my second thought.
After making the conclusion of the whole plots by myself,my answer is its complexity.Here,we immediately tread on a controversial ground.Some experts said that if you cover on single side of the face of Mona Lisa, you read opposite emotions.The Little Prince is the same,it mirrors your inner thoughts as it’s a plural story which could be read in different angles.
The first dispute goes to the debate of its emontional plate.If the readers are asked to use one color to describe his feeling towards The Little Prince.Surely,the popularity of blue equals to the red's.You can find consolation from the heart-warming plots such as the friendship set up between the narrator and the little prince.In the meanwhile,sadness crowds into your mind if you take other details into account.When the little prince was still on his way to different astroids,there was always only one dweller in one astroid.All of them,no matter who he is,a magnificent monarch,a conceited man waiting for salutes, were lack of understanding.They were all lonely in their limited space,now let's pay attention to the codes they have:325,326,327…Could we just assume that there are a huge number of other astroids,which may gain the code like 472,831,659… And they are of the same condition:Someone is being alone and odd,with nobody to attentively listen to them.It probably reveals a social reality that every individual is lonely after all.In this case,It seems that the little prince was lucky as he at least owned a rose.But is it true?The little prince had left the rose away,even the end of story didn't bring the little prince back to B612.Besides,he was bitten by a scary snake,although he demonstrated that his death was not true ,what can substantiate that?He did bring his “shell”with the help of a flock of migrating birds to the earth,why did he choose another way,such an unbelievable solution, to return home?It may suggests death,unfortunately.Even the little prince arrives in B612 safely,could he meet the rose,who had only four nearly useless thorns to protect herself?Assume that the rose is still alive,eager for the arrival of the little prince,is the little prince able to touch her fetals after he abandoned his body?It may be a thorough tragedy from the beginning to the ending.The little prince left the rose because of the pain he bore from love,finally got the entirely new view about love after the tour,but without the body,he couldn't hug his beloved any more.
Then,here we have the second argument,is it written for the grow-ups or the kids?The kids must be pleased as the complaints about the grow-ups and the praise for themselves easily reach their satisfication.But they may get perplexed by the almost mature and realistic love factor and the open ending which possibly leads to the result that the little prince is killed,amazingly different from what they fancy based on their accumulated experience of Disney's patten.I prefer that it's for adults,the words of the little prince act like the warning and critique sent to the adults who care about the “the matter of consequence”too much.
Based on its complexity ,everyone read their own The Little Prince ,which makes its beauty of mystery continuously attracts the readers from all over the world.
