Thoughts after Readi

The book "Sister Carrie" has made me think deeply about the
collision of dreams, desires and reality. Carrie, a rural girl with
longing for a better life, came to the prosperous big city to seek
opportunities. Driven by desires, she constantly pursued material
possessions and higher status. However, this pursuit also cost her a
great deal. Carrie's experience shows me the fragility and confusion
of human nature. Facing various temptations, she struggled to hold onto
her original intention and gradually got lost in vanity and materials.
This made me reflect on whether in real life, we too, on the road of
pursuing our dreams, lose what is truly important due to excessive
pursuit of external things. Meanwhile, this book also reveals the
cruel side of society. Carrie struggled to survive in this competitive
and unfair world, and her fate was largely influenced by the social
environment and others. This made me realize that we cannot merely
attribute personal success or failure to one's own efforts or
shortcomings. Social factors also play a crucial role. In conclusion,
"Sister Carrie" is a thought-provoking work. It makes me
cherish the innocence in my heart and the true values more, and also
gives me a clearer understanding of society.
