In Arabia, there was a boy named Aladdin (his father was Mustafa).
Aladdin was a lazy boy. He didn't want to work, always played with his
friends, and came back home only when he was hungry. One day, an old man
called Abanazar met Aladdin. Abanazar claimed that he was Aladdin's
uncle. Since Abanazar knew Aladdin's name and the name of his father,
Mustafa, Aladdin believed him. Finally, Abanazar gave Aladdin ten pieces
of gold. Aladdin's mother treated Abanazar well. Then, Abanazar offered
Aladdin an "ideal" job. Abanazar took Aladdin to a strange
place. In fact, Abanazar was a magician. He needed Aladdin to get a
magic lamp for him. First, Abanazar gave Aladdin a magic ring. When
Aladdin came back with the lamp, Abanazar demanded that Aladdin hand it
over immediately. Aladdin refused. Then, Abanazar used his magic to seal
the stone passage, and Aladdin was trapped and couldn't leave.
Aladdin was trapped underground for three days. Suddenly, he remembered
that the ring which had magic. When he rubbed it, a jinnee appeared.
Aladdin expressed his wish to go back home, and it came true. Once home,
he told his mother everything that had happened. However, his mother
thought the dirty lamp it was worthless and decided to sell it. As she
rubbed the lamp to clean it, another jinnee emerged. With the help of
the jinnee from the lamp, Aladdin became wealthy. Gradually, Aladdin
set up a market in the town. One day, he saw Princess Badr - al - Budur,
the Sultan's daughter, and instantly fell in love with her. He asked his
mother to go to the Sultan and propose the marriage, taking along a lot
of jewelry. But due to her timidity, Aladdin's mother didn't immediately
approach the Sultan. Eventually, she conveyed Aladdin's desire to marry
the princess. The Sultan, upon seeing the beautiful jewelry, assumed
Aladdin was a rich man and initially agreed. But at that moment, the
Vizier informed the Sultan that his son had also found even more
beautiful jewelry. So, the Sultan hesitated. Two months later, when
Aladdin learned of this setback, he was extremely anxious. He rubbed the
magic lamp, and the jinnee brought the princess to him. The next day,
the princess told her father that she wanted to marry Aladdin. With the
jinnee's assistance, Aladdin passed the difficult tests set by the
Sultan. Finally, Aladdin and the princess got married and lived happily
together. Unfortunately, Abanazar saw the magic lamp in the palace.
He then traveled back to Arabia and learned all about Aladdin's
situation. One day, while Aladdin was out hunting, Abanazar pretended to
offer a deal of exchanging new lamps for old ones. The princess, unaware
of the danger, sold the magic lamp to him. Consequently, Abanazar rubbed
the lamp, and the jinnee transported everything that belonged to Aladdin
back to Morocco. For the Sultan and Aladdin, the princess's
disappearance was a nightmare. Thirty - seven days later, Aladdin
suddenly remembered his magic ring. He asked the jinnee from the ring to
take him to the palace where the princess was held. He brought some
sleeping powder with him. The princess pretended to comply with Abanazar
and offered him a tall gold cup filled with a drink laced with the
sleeping powder. Abanazar drank it and soon fell into a deep sleep.
Aladdin retrieved the magic lamp, put it in his pocket, and then killed
Abanazar. Finally, he made a wish with the lamp, and he and the princess
returned home and lived happily forever.
