Reflections
槐藤叶
The first five chapters of Insights into Chinese Culture show us clearly
the main idea of traditional Chinese culture. They combine philosophical
ideas with cultural meanings and show us Chinese culture’s long-term
value. Confucius’ idea of people and nature living in peace influences
how Chinese people think about the bond between people and the natural
world. Laozi’s following the natural way tells us to obey nature’s laws.
These two thoughts fit together nicely, teaching us to keep a mix of
working hard and relaxing in daily life. Sunzi’s The Art of War is not
just about fighting skills. It shows that Chinese people like using
brains more than power to solve problems. The Temple of Heaven is a sign
of how much Chinese people honor and appreciate heaven and earth. Also,
the chapter about ancient Chinese environmental thoughts tells us that
the wisdom of ancient people still agrees with today’s environmental
protection. From these chapters, I learn that Chinese culture is not
just a group of old symbols. It is practical wisdom that lets us respect
nature, understand people, and live life in a smart, adaptable way. Its
value is meaningful to people everywhere, and it reminds us to pass this
culture on and think about its real meaning.
