Old Man and the Sea

The Old Man and the Sea, written by Ernest Hemingway, tells a tough fisherman’s battle with a giant marlin far out at sea. The old man finally loses his catch to sharks, yet he never gives up fighting. Hemingway creates the spirit of “grace under pressure”. Though the old man fails to bring back the fish, he wins spiritual victory. His perseverance teaches me that true heroism lies in never surrendering to difficulties.
