Jack London,which is a famous american writer in 19 century,is well known for one of his masterpiece-The Call of the Wild. When I saw the title of this book at the first time, I thought that it might tell us a story about an exciting adventure. However,to my surprise,it is not a story of human being,but a dog. The dog named Buck played the leading role of this distinctive story

Buck,the leading role of this fantastic novel, is not a ordinary dog. It was stolen and sold to the Alaska to help people pull the sledge. Buck’s first day at there was terrible. Every hour there was some new,frightening surprise. As the novel said ’There was no peace, no rest-only continual noise and movement. And every minute there was danger, because these dogs and men were not town dogs and men. They know only the law of club and tooth.’ Besides that, there was not too much food for Buck to eat and it must do a lot of hard work every day. What a poor dog!

Facing such horrible condition, Buck did not step back and give up the difficult life. On the contrary, It tried its best to survive. For example,Buck even learned how to eat fast to keep the other dogs from robbing it of its food. As time went by, the smart Buck became more and more stronger. At that time, none of dog could defeat such a brave dog. Then Buck was hurt seriously by its fierce owner. Luckily, a kind man help it and they got along with each other. But happy days did not last long, the generous man was killed by some Indians. Buck was so angry that it killed them.

After that, Buck was tired of the cold human society. It seemed that someone was calling Buck itself. Finally, Buck found the right place for it-the forest. Buck fought with the wolves and took charge of them.At last, Buck came back to the nature becase it heard the call of the wild.

Although this is not a real story, it make me deeply moved.This is not just a story of Buck. It showed us the principle of the strong survive and many kinds of feeling such as fear, happiness and passion .I also learned that we should never give up no matter how hard it will be and care about others when they are in trouble. What’s more, it is necessary for all of us to return to the great nature.

‘In the summer there is one visitor to that valley:a large,golden-brown wolf,larger than any other wolf.He walks alone on the lake where the yellow gold shines in the water,and howls.But he is not always alone.In the long winter nights,he runs at the head of the wolf pack through the moonlight,calling into the night with them,singing a song of a younger world.’ Yes,Buck heard the call of the wild.
