No Vampire!
Do you believe the vampire? Have you used vampire to explain something unbelievable? Strongly believing the logic and science, the great detective Holmes think it impossible. Holmes is the protagonist of detective fiction created by Arthur Conan Doyle. His sharp observation and excellent logical judgment have left people deep impression, and he can always solve some complex problems that others were powerless.
This time, he succeeded in keeping his client out of the threat of “vampire”.
One day, he received a letter telling about that Robert Ferguson, an tea brokers of Mincing Lane, had seen the vampire! In fact, who he regarded as a vampire is his wife. His wife had been a loyal, kind, pretty Peruvian woman, devoting herself to loving his husband. While things had been changed since his baby-sitter told him something unbelievable that his wife had done.
About a month ago, his wife had begun to strike his stepson, who was given birth to by Ferguson’s former wife. What’s worse, the baby-sitter had seen that his wife were seeming to bite her own baby because her mouth was full of blood and there was a wound in baby’s neck. These were the reason why Ferguson had a big quarrel with her, which wholly broke the happiness of this family.
So, making up his mind solving this case, Holmes and came to Cheeseman’s garden that Ferguson lived in with Watson. However, Who can imagine a man can find the truth just through some tiny clues like the bow and arrow on the wall, the sick dog and hidden expressions of a boy. But it is Holmes who can do it. Then how did he get his inference?
At first, he didn’t believe Ferguson’s wife had sucked his baby’s blood, he thought she was sucking an unknown poison for her baby. And the bow and arrow on the wall made him believe that there absolutely existed a kind of traditional poison. However, the sick dog made Holmes become more confident, because someone must take the dog as a experiment which made it ill. Finally, he saw Ferguson’s stepson, his behavior told that he was greatly loving his dad, and it was his envious expression that made Holmes see the way to solve this problem.
In fact, it was Ferguson’s stepson who hurt the baby by the poisonous arrow, his distorted love, a maniacal exaggerated love for his dad made him do these. And being afraid of letting Ferguson down, his wife didn’t tell the truth. Finally, Ferguson and his wife were hugging filled with tears.
Deeply being lost in thought, I think this case makes me learn much things. At first, vampire does not exist at all, all the things that are ever mistaken for the behavior of the vampire are actually what human do. Continuously, I have a deeper knowledge of human’s mind. What can the extreme love do? It can make people commit a crime and be put in prison. So I absolutely see the great power of mind. Finally, for the purpose of solving the complex problems, I must learn one thing called “circumspection”. Only when you keep careful in your mind any time can you find the hidden truth successfully!
