It'stypical of Henry to finis a story in thisway.Generally speaking, the plot of the story was too simple to attract those readers.A boy focused on finding a girl, therefore he needed a place to livein.That'sit.Butthe ending wasshocking.Hesuicided in the same room she passedaway.Apartfrom feeling sympathy, what we should really concerned was thebackground.Wewere supposed to ask ourselves:What happened on earth in our society?Mignonette, which is the symbol of hope in the novel, guided the boy in seeking the girl heloved.Compared with the atmosphere in the furnished room, the odour appeared way better than theroom.Thelove between the boy and the girl was real and pure, but why did both of them choose to end their life in the same way?Clearly,we could tell that the landlord did not care the girl or theboy'sdeaths, the only thing she cared was to rent the room and made profitafterwards.
