Some people say that A Tale of Two Cities is a story of two men and a woman, but I think those who say this must not understand what the author is really trying to convey. If this is the only expression, any work can reach the level of Lucy and Charles, then how to show the advantage of A Tale of Two Cities? It seems to me that the animosity between the Defaches and the French aristocracy, and the emotional problems of Lucy, Charles and Sidney, are all designed to embody a common theme. The theme is to analyze the relationship between the revolution and the people, to see what caused the revolution, and what happened to the people because of the bloodshed. I think this is the focus of what the author wants to express.
