At the beginning, Darcy has been misunderstood by everyone. but he doesn't care at all. In his mind, if he did all things well, whatever other people looked him. However, he fell in love with Elizabeth later and decided to change his arrogant and conceited character for her. Even if she refused his propose, he didn't give up, but kept changing himself and eliminate all the misunderstandings. Eventually making Elizabeth fall in love with him. He doesn't care about Elizabeth's poor family. Although they are of different classes, he loves her. Finally, he overcame everyone's prejudice against him and married Elizabeth.

  As the first version of Pride and Prejudice called First Impressions, it also tells us the great importance of first impression. We prefer to put a label on people when we first meet them, it will cause a lot of misunderstandings, just like Darcy and Elizabeth. However, the author reverses the convention of “first impressions”. Undoubtedly, the novel passed values across time and space.
