Like all romance novels, the first meeting of the hero and heroine is dramatic, as if it were God's plan. The author used the chiaroscuro technique to show the hazy love of the hero and the secret of the hero with a strange event (namely the burning of Mr. Rochester's room). And similar to most love novels, the heroine's rival appeared, but Jane Eyre who is always active and stubborn is self-abased in the treatment of Miss Ingram's problem. In spite of all the faults she saw in Miss Ingram, she did not, after all, know the depth of Mr. Rochester's love for her, so she was not confident about herself. In other words, because of her humble position in love, she can only hope for the master to show love, but if she takes the initiative, she does not have the courage and confidence.
