Charlotte was born in 1816 to a family of rural priests in Howarth, Yorkshire, northern England. Her mother died young, and eight-year-old Charlotte was sent to the Corwen Bridge Girls' Boarding School, a charity institution for orphan girls from the clergy. At the age of 15 she entered Miss Wooler's school, where she became a teacher a few years later. Later, she worked as a tutor, and eventually she devoted herself to the path of literary creation. In 1847, Charlotte Brontë published the novel "Jane Eyre", which caused a sensation in the literary world. Between the fall of 1848 and 1849 her brother and two sisters died. In the shadow and confusion of death, she persevered to complete Shelley, which placed her mourning on her sister Emily and described the early spontaneous labor movement in England. She also wrote Villette (1853) and The Teacher (1857), both based on her own life experiences.

As the main body of society, women do not passively adapt to the environment and society, do not compromise and sacrifice without principle. Have the courage to defend your dignity and rights; Women should learn to rely on themselves and face the challenges of life and society independently. Say goodbye to weakness, dependence and helplessness emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually, and remove all kinds of shackles that hinder people's growth. Both Charlotte Brontë herself and her Jane Eyre embody this tendency to determine personality in gender consciousness.

The most prominent theme in her novels is the strong desire of women to be independent. This theme can be said to be tenaciously expressed in all her novels, and the female voice as the theme of the novel, which has never been seen before her in the history of English literature, was the first person to express this theme.
