Treasure Island tells the story of British teenager Jim who got the legendary treasure map from the dying sailor Burns in the middle of the 18th century and organized an expedition to Treasure Island with support of the local gentry. He fought against the pirates with Gunn and finally put an end to the story of mutiny and success in obtaining the treasure. Treasure Island embodies the desire of Orientalism to "orientalize" and "contain" the East. Treasure Island and its treasure repreasent the image of the East distorted by Orientalism.
