《瓦尔登湖》选书理由

吴秉希
Walden Lake "is the work of American writer Thoreau. Henry David Thoreau, an American writer, philosopher, representative figure of transcendentalism, was also an abolitionist and naturalist with a tendency towards anarchism. He once served as a land surveyor.
Thoreau graduated from Harvard University and assisted Emerson in editing and commenting on the quarterly magazine 'The Sundial'. He wrote many political essays opposing the war between the United States and Mexico, and supported the abolitionist movement throughout his life. He gave speeches everywhere advocating for abolition and criticized the law of runaway slaves. His thoughts were deeply influenced by Emerson, advocating for a return to his true nature and getting close to nature. I want to read Walden Lake, understand Thoreau's state of mind, and feel the beauty of literature, shaping my inner world.
