我的读后感

 What's the good book?I think the good book should bring people new ideas, broaden their horizons,even change their concept of some things. The book——“The spirit of Chinese people”really make me have a new recognition of ourselves. We,Chinaman,have so many good qualities. So, we should have enough self–confidence to head up.   The book was written during the first world war at the beginning of the last century，when European civilization was in crisis.Mr.gu aims to show a way out for European in crisis,and indeed for the civilization as a whole.He tries to explain the spirit of Chinese people in the book and reveal its value,that is to say,the Chinese civilization under  Confucian tradition.   He appeals people to get rid of priests, get rid of soldier.He speaks highly of the life of Chinese people. He says“The Chinese, to this day, live the life of a child,the life of heart, they yet have a power of mind,they process the secret of perpetual youth. ”In fact, the real Chinaman is the product of the combination of two things sympathy and intelligence. So they live a life of the heart–a life of emotion or human affection. At the same time,Chinese language is a language of heart,too.Therefore, they never grow old. And the man and woman,—the type of human beings— which a civilization produces, it is this which shows the essence, the personality, so to speak, the soul of that civilization.  The real China man is a person with the head of a grown–up, and a heart of a child. Confucius says“The law of the gentleman is to be found everywhere and yet it's a secret. ”That's because the Chinese people have the simplest and purest minds.The author thinks Confucianism can take place of religion. I think that's right. The truth of the matter is, —the reason why the Chinese people do not feel the need of religion is because they have in Confucianism a system of philosophy and ethics, a synthesis of human society and civilization which can take the place of religion.The religion in European sense of the word teaches a man to be a good man, but Confucianism does more than this, he teaches a man to be a good citizen. He tells us the chief end of man is to live as a dutiful son and a good citizen. If you want to honor the emperor and be loyal to him, you must first love your mother and father. Moreover,the cheif end of woman in China is to live as good daughter, a good wife and a good mother. Nowadays，some ideas  seems to be outdated,but in fact,they still have their own meaning.For example,the essence of true politeness is a consideration for the feelings of others. It's a matter of feeling ,of emotion is something which has to do with the human soul.Philosophy also enables the philosophers to see method in the universe,like Confucianism.  I've learned a lot from the book. I have new understanding of China man, especially. No matter when we should have self–confidence and always head up.
