read feelings
Recently, I read "The Spirit of the Chinese" by Mr.Gu, who is known as the genius of modern Chinese culture. This book explains the spirit of Chinese civilization and reveals its value from the real Chinese, Chinese etiquette, and Chinese language. Written during the First World War in the early part of the last century, just as European civilization was in crisis, Gu Hongming’s purpose was obvious, pointing out a way out for Europe in crisis and even the entire world civilization. The purpose is to try to explain the spirit of Chinese civilization and reveal its value. under the Confucian tradition.
Gu Hongming summarizes the Chinese spirit into the following aspects, Broad, profound, and simple in this book. The first Chinese spirit is gentleman. There is no toughness, harshness, rudeness and violence. The real Chinese may be ugly, vulgar, ignorant, and awkward, but it is not terrible and not aggressive, no absurd, no evil. The Chinese do have a lot of shortcomings, but these shortcomings reveal a bit of cuteness. The second spirit is strong compassion. The real Chinese live a life that is influenced by human beings. Sometimes they may be said to have neglected what they should do but they are free to live a real, feeling of life. Fortunately, the Chinese are still alive today, they are polite and helpful. And pursue their Chinese dreams with such personality and attitude towards life.
The old gentleman praises Chinese culture and Confucian culture for Chinese and Westerners and Chinese culture and Western culture. He believes that Chinese people are deep, broad, simple and sensitive. In the article, Mr. Gu revealed the Chinese people's spiritual life, publicized the value of Chinese traditional culture, advocated Confucian civilization, and thought our civilization can rescue Western civilization. Although the statement is not all correct, but his reasonableness. Today's China, despite a group of defenders of traditional culture, appears so pale and weak in the face of the public. Some people always think that "the western moon is more rounder than Chinese" and thus forget the root of ourselves From the perspective of our contemporary people, we must inherit and carry forward the excellent culture of our own nation. We must also learn from and draw on the advanced culture and technology of other nations. As a contemporary Chinese youth, what kind of spirit and attitude should we face to face life and face society? I think this is the answer. Teenagers is the hope and future of society, and it should have a high sense of responsibility and mission to the country and the nation. We should promote the value of traditional Chinese culture, practice the spirit of the Chinese.
Reading this book has benefited me a lot. I hope that contemporary China, contemporary Chinese, and young people will inherit the courage of Mr. Gu to realize the contemporary Chinese dream. Making our country stand in the forest of the world with the spirit of the Chinese.
