《中国人的精神》+书评
On this vacation I read the book <The spirit of Chinese people> which is written by Gu Hongming.
When I finished the book<the spirit of the Chinese people>,I must admit it that I can't understand it clearly because of my poor English. Follows are my thoughts about the book. They are just my personal opinions.
The book is aimed to explain the spirit of the Chinese people and to show the value of Chinese civilization. Mr.Gu is a knowledgeable person. He wrote this famous book in English. From the book,I know his understand of the spirit of the Chinese people and his defense for it.
The Chinese spirit is gentlemanly," which comes not from reasoning nor from instinct, but from sympathy—from the power of sympathy." l like the explanation about gentlemen. However,it is hard for me to accept the opinion about Chinese women. I think he just find an excuse for those Chinese man who has several women. Everyone should be treated equally. But that may not have been the case then.
