Recently, I read Mr. Gu hongming's the spirit of Chinese people. I have to say that this book is a little too abstruse. which makes me have some difficulties in understanding it. However, I can feel the sense of identity and pride of the old gentleman to our Chinese culture everywhere in this book. In an era of distorted understanding of the Chinese spirit, this book is undoubtedly valuable and great.
Mr Gu argues that a civilization must be valued for " what kind of man , what kind of man and woman it can produce " . I have to say , the old gentleman found the most direct carrier of spiritual value - -human spirit is dependent on human , and the old gentleman in the description of the Chinese spirit when the use of Americans , Germans , French contrast , highlighting the Chinese character and the characteristics of Chinese civilization deep , broad , simple and sensitive . These are things that any of these individual countries can do . I think it all comes from our long history and civilization . That is something we can be proud of and learn from.
