Introduction of the Author
The Great Gatsby, S. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940), was one of the most outstanding American writers of the twentieth century. "The Great Gatsby" is his most famous masterpiece.
SUMMARY
In the United States in the 1920s, the atmosphere of songs and drinking was filled with air. By chance, the poor staff Nick broke into the hidden world of the wealthy billionaire Gatsby. He was surprised to find that the only thing in his heart was the little green light on the river bank. Beloved Daisy. However, the cold reality can not realize the dream, in the end, the goddess in Gatsby's heart is nothing more than a material girl. When all the truth is revealed, Gatsby's tragic life is like a firework. It's just a moment, and disillusionment is eternal. A gorgeous "Jazz Age" elegy, in the words of Fitzgerald, like a poem, has left a strong ink mark in the history of American contemporary literature.
IMPRESSION
Gatsby's greatness is twofold. Materially, he has created staggering wealth from nothing; spiritually, his consistent belief has a unique personality charm. Some people say that Daisy is his only obsession, and all the miracles created by Gatsby are for her. If it is from the surface of the story, it is true. I can go deeper, not that Daisy created him, but that he created himself. Born poor families, unwilling to live this life, every day to give themselves a variety of learning and exercise physique plans can be seen, Gatsby is destined to be a miracle. However, the emergence of Daisy has further become a driving force for his success.
Finally,I want to use the final sentence in The Great Gaztby as the end, which I consider as the ending I have ever read and inspire me a lot. Gatzby's dream was always behind him, from the moment he met Daisy and fell in love with her.So what he did was just striving hard back into the past against the current of time, like the ending says:
