The stories in this book can be read individually but they also come together as a single narrative. At the centre is the King, Merlin, Sir Gawain and the mythical god, Idris. Idris has five daughters, the youngest of whom has rebelled against him. Revengeful and malignant she has turned her attention to the destruction of the King and the everlasting imprisonment of his Counsellor, Merlin. Tormented by the pain of what was and what is, he has to be freed to soar eagle-like with Arthur high above the mountain tops. But who and where is the young woman of the prophecy of life and death, who can release him? After that what can ensue in the history of the world?

Michael Scott, Vice Chancellor and Professor of English and Theatre Studies at Glyndŵr University, Wales, UK, is a distinguished literary critic having written books and articles on Shakespeare, Elizabethan and Modern English and European theatre and edited many more. He has lectured in countries around the world and has been a Visiting Fellow at Harris Manchester College, Oxford, UK and a Visiting Professor at Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA. He is a Visiting Fellow at Southwest University for Nationalities, Chengdu and Visiting Professor of English at Dezhou University, Shandong, China.
