cry of sadness？

This novel describes a man died in a war and his comrades show full respect and concern for him， but his death turned his wife into a mean， cold woman. It cost some money to preserve her husband's body, but for such an expensive embalmed body wail the woman weep aloud. It seems natural for a woman to cry at her husband's death， but it somehow seems full of irony when the woman cries and sets us thinking. The love of his comrades and the indifference of the widow form a very strong contrast.
