little prince ： a fairy tale of adult

We were all kids before, but do you remember the time when you suppose that you were not a child anymore? Most not, I think. However, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry may not forget, who write little prince , which is a fairy tale for adult. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (29 June 1900—31 July 1944), was an aristocrat French writer, poet and pioneering aviator. He, liking using brief and witty languages, is best remembered for his novella The Little Prince(1943), which convey the deep think and reflection of human society to readers.

little prince has delivered us a vivid and imaginary fairy tale. Little prince left from his planet, then traveled to many other planets, meeting all kinds of people, nice, selfish, inflexible or vapid. At last, he got acquainted with a pilot in desert by accident. Then, happening many things, they began to understand each other and the pilot gain his childhood again. The princess raise a rose but it treated him, he felt sad, he run away, to visit other planet. He had not imagined that,  on other world, the adult are not better than that rose. They, who are of selfishness and trick. As a child, he can not understand all of these until he meet that pilot who let the princess understand that the rose are exactly what he are looking for.

From this novel, judging by appearance, it tells a fairy tale for kids, at the same time, it gives a warning to the adult in that time. We can see obviously the adult in the novel are deceptive and inflexible. The pilot’s parents kill his dream of being a painter just because the painting is not good enough. What’s more, the king wanted every one to adore him to satisfy his vanity. From the perspective of a child, we see many strange things in adult, which shows the sadness and false of adults. For child, it is abundant of sun. For adults, it is the admonish.

Compared with adults, the princess is full of love and sincere, at last, he knew what he exactly wanted. Adults, addicted to the reality’s nihility, however, can not realize their goals. The writer, by this story, do his best to sarcasm the phenome in adults and appeal people to get their childishness. According this, it id not exaggerated to say that the novel is a fairy tale of adults.

In history, there were many similar novel, which appreciated children’s simplicity. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer , for instance, also exposed the adults’ vanity and false. From my perspective, we should keep our childishness as well as adultness. With childishness, we know what we want. With adultness, we can make our life better. As a college student, I suppose that the childishness is what can make me stay in the road which lead to the dream. Meanwhile, we can’t get away from this society which means that we should learn how to communicate with others sincerely and this is adultness.
