This book “The Little Prince” is written by Saint-Exupéry, a French pilot in 1943.It was first published in 1942. It tells a story about a little prince,who had left his planet with a flower he loves and went travelling on other planets including the Earth,on which he had met the narrator——a pilot fallen on the Sahara because of an engine breakdown.The little prince’s trip began with meeting the king,who is dominant and wants to sire everything.For the next station the little prince came to the planet which was inhabited by a conceited man.He thought the conceited man was odd and left for the third planet with a tripper.After that,the little prince came through the business man who is obsessed with calculating and becoming rich,the lamplighter who sticks to the order of lighting lamp and a geographer.Finally ,the little prince landed on the earth and met the narrator.Through the little prince’s trip,he had seen through the odd things happen on adults,which encouraged him to reflect on himself.After reflecting,he understand life better and learn to cherish the thing he owns.

I think this book is more a book for adults than a book for children,even though it is a fairy tale.Only adults who have experienced a lot and changed a lot in the way they think can well understanding what the author is trying to convey.It is about the pure heart we lost as we grow up.The two drawings the narrator keep mentioning is about how the objective world has shaped our mind and prevents us from creating a world of our own.We are told what things are,and things are just what we told.I think we should view everything from a completely different angle,just like we first saw them in the childhood.Each of the adult the little prince has come across represent one of the drawbacks adults may have.The king’s problem is too dominant,always trying to control everything.He is like some of the adults trying to control what others think,say and do.Some Adults sometimes want people to do things in the way we like,but ignoring what others want.The conceited man give readers a glimpse of how vainglorious and shallow some adults are and do everything they can to get appreciation by others.When we are kids ,we don't care much about what others think,we focus on ourselves,on what we need and what we like.But as we grow older,we interact with others more often,and begin to take others words on us seriously .It sometimes can be a bad thing since you lost your true self.The existence of the businessman conveys the author's value about wealth.Everyone needs money,and almost everyone wants to be wealthy.But as we grow older,our appetite grows larger.We want more and more ,and finally let our desire take control of us.This book also tells us how adults relationships are like.In the story ,the little Prince tame the fox,which means building relationship with it.In building an relationship,two adults first know each other,then they become closer by spending times together,making each others life more colorful,and last leaving each other.Building relationship makes our life more meaningful,though we can't avoid saying goodbye,the good memories will stay with us for the rest of our life.That's also what the little Prince had learned from his trip,and because of that he will cherish his flower and their love more.

As far as I’m concerned, this book deserves being read several times in different age periods,it helps us understand life and teaches us to live a better life following our hearts.
