The tale of two cities is a long historical novel written by Charles
Dickens in the context of the French Revolution. It was first published
in 1859. In the story, Paris and London are linked, and the story
revolves around the Doctor Manette family and the San Antonio District
headed by the Defarges. In the novel, it describes how the nobles
corrupt and injure the common people. The hatred of nobles in the hearts
of the people leads to the inevitable French Revolution. This is the
best of times and the worst of times. In the book, I feel deeply the
cruelty of Lucie's father and those who died on the guillotine in the
French Revolution. Therefore, when the French people are striving for
freedom and democracy, many innocent lives are also passing away. It
turns out that the French people I have been lamenting are not as
perfect as I thought. In this book, they show more the evil nature of
their revolution.
