People are born free,but there is no place without shackles.He who thinks he is the master of all others is a slave more than all others.This sentence was originally used by Rousseau to alert the world to reflect on their reationship with society.But later,it became a famous saying of the world,not with its content,but with its philosophical thinking to continue to alert the world.This is also the role social contract theory can play in this world.
Gortius said:since a man can transfer his freedom and make himself a slave to a master,why can't the people of a country transfer their freedom and make themselves a subject of a king?And in Rousseau's refutation,it's illegal to only mention such a kind of offering,which is invalid.This madness cannot constitute power.Money everyone can transfer himself,but he can't transfer his children.Children are born human and free.But Rousseau did not refute Grotius'arguement.Only from the historical and social point of view and people's common sense to reason out its mistakes.
