from society
罗岚莎
This is a funny story. When winter is coming, soapy begins to make
efforts to enter his winter residence, blackwell prison, and tries every
means to get the police to arrest him. But they were unsuccessful.
Influenced by the music of the hymns in the church, he decided to give
up his old life and start over, but he was arrested by the police and
sent to prison "as he wished". The author USES a light and
humorous style to describe soapy, a tramp, who makes ridiculous attempts
to achieve his own ridiculous goals, such as eating and drinking in
restaurants, smashing shop Windows, molesting young women, disturbing
the peace, and stealing. It is incredible and even more ridiculous that
the police officers showed a kind of "tolerance" instead of
punishing these illegal actions. It was a fine irony that when soapy
gave up his idea, the "permissive" police arrested him for
doing nothing. Thus, the ridiculous becomes pitiful, pitiful, pitiful...
