The Secret Garden

The secret garden tells a story about how a British girl who used to live in India regains happiness after she became an orphan and came back to England.It is about growth,friendship,love and a lot of things. I'm going to share some of my sentiments after reading this book and I will focus on three key points which I found them most interesting in the story. First of all,the three main characters in the book are children of different personality. The most popular character is Diken I suppose. He is warm hearted,intelligent,diligent and has a powerful magic which can make all living creatures be willing to come close to him. He is just like the son of nature. Colin is a disabled child. He used to be autistic and had a really bad temper but these characters all resuted from his unfortunate childhood live. But he has finally overcome difficulties and seen the sunshine again with the help and encouragement of Mary and Diken. Finally it comes to our main character--Mary.She used to be an annoying and self-centered little girl. The life gradually brought her some changes. These characters are all very unique and I can that they are quite strange in some way. I mean they are totally different from traditional cute as well as lively children image in other children's literatures. They are more close to children in our real world. So it is great that most of children can find they have something in common with the characters in the book and this commo sense may help them learn to view themselves and the whole world from a different perspective. Then let's head down to the second key point. I want to say something about family background. From my point of view,family background plays an important role in the formation of children's character. It is clear that Diken is different from Mary and Colin at first. This is mainly because they have different family background. Mary didn't gain enough love and care from her mother before she became an orphan and Colin's mother passed away shortly after he was born.Although these two children lived quite a rich life,they still became unsociable and eccentric. While Diken's family is poor but the whole family live a positive and happy live by loving each other selflessly. Thus it can be seen that love is of great significance during the growth of children. So we should be grateful for mother's love when we are children and we should also put our heart and soul into our children to show our deep love for them. Last but not least,the most touching part is the pure and sincere friendship between the children. They came from different families and their status vary greatly but all these can't be the reason to separate them. They treat each other equally and built up sincere friendship. I really enjoy the purity of their friendship because that reminds me of mine too. Children's friendship is very pure. They don't care about status or fake politeness. The only thing they care about is true feelings. As they are getting along with each other,all the children kept learning from others. The advantages will be pointed out and prasied without a second hesitation as well as the problems. As I am growing up,I gradually find out that things are totally different in the adult world. If adults want to build up relationship with others,they tend to judge this person more practically. Instead of his hobbies and characteristics,they care more about status,money,background. They keep thinking how will this relationship benefits themselves and whether it is worth being set up. Just as the saying goes"The purest emotion disappeared andwas replaced by benefits as we were growing up." I highly recommend this book for its educational meaning as well as its purity. There's no doubt that you will never regret the time you spend reading it.
