TRA$H
THE SONNETS was published by Shakespeare in 1609.It is his last
published work which is not drama.Sonnets is a kind of lyric poetry from
Italy which was famous in Europe during the renaissance. The structure of
the sonnets is well-knit which can be divided into two parts. The first
part includes eight lines of poetry and the second one includes six
lines. However,Shakespeare made it more complete that every poetry in THE
SONNETS consists of triple “four lines” in the first part and double
“two lines” in the second part, ten syllables every line. This kind of
format is called “Shakespeare kind” or “Elizabeth kind”. Shakespeare
lived between the break of the feudal society and the rise of
capitalism. For one thing, the age that he lived was going through great
change. For the another thing, the social contradictions went further that
the cruelty of capitalism gradually was revealed.Because of the poverty
Shakespeare didn’t get highly educated. So his achievements benefit from
the renaissance. He began to put his eyes on the humanity, chased the
happiness all over the world and hoped for the eternity for his
love, which is different from others who got off feelings of complaining
the betrayal and indifference. It is hard to say that THE SONNETS is his
autobiography. It is not someone’s life as well.In my opinion,THE SONNETS
may be just recorded by others and compiled.THE SONNETS is something
that is very complex. There are some motives that Shakespeare may wrote
THE SONNETS.The first reason may be the offering it respectfully to the
nobility.Back to the old Greece,it is very honorable to invite a poet to
his or her feast. But in the Middle Ages, popes got into charge of the
society. The poets’ status became pretty low.So Shakespeare needed to
make his life out to play up.Another reason may be shout his emotions
out, which may includes sarcasm. One of the greatest poetry may the 18th
in THE SONNETS.This is one of the most famous of all the sonnets,
justifiably so. But it would be a mistake to take it entirely in
isolation, for it links
