My understanding

The novel tells a sad story from the dog's perspective. The narrator of the story ," I ", is a loyal dog who saved his master's children from the fire, but he was repeatedly unlucky. First by the master folded a leg, then watched his love son lost Huang Quan, and finally in grief dying. The work details what I see, hear and feel, and presents a living dog to readers. This is a tragic work by Mark Twain in his later years. At the end, the death of the dog implied the great impulse of traditional morality in the society at that time. In the novel ," I "is a moral dog with at least three human virtues :1. Loyalty. Be brave. Tolerance. Compared with dogs, the cold scientists in the novel are much inferior. He indiscriminately killed an innocent dog for life. When the dog saved his child, he sent the dog's child to the test-bed. His cold cruelty is sad, his morality is lost in him, but he is displayed in the dog, and the novel is thought-provoking.
