Sense and Sensibility is a famous British woman writer Jane. Austen's
first novel. The sisters, Elinor and Marianne, were born into a
respectable English gentry family, with the older sister controlling her
emotions by reason, and the younger, who was often unrestrained in her
emotions, reacting differently to setbacks in their love affairs... The
plot revolves around the activities of the two heroines to choose a
spouse, exposing the British capitalist society at that time, taking
marriage as a custom for women to seek economic security and improve
their economic status, and the ugly fashion of paying attention to
family status and ignoring the feelings of children and human rights. As
the title suggests, the whole story focuses on the conflict between
"reason" and "emotion". The book is a sister story
to the author's magnum opus Pride and Prejudice, which tells the story
of the love and marriage of a young girl without a wealthy dowry with
delicate writing and lively dialogue.
