The Great Gatsby
静-w
The story of Gatsby is doomed to be a tragedy. The reason why the moth
is willing to fight the fire is not because the moth is naive or brave,
but because the light in the moth's heart is so beautiful that it
magnifies the beauty and romance of the fire and falls in love with the
spark in his fantasy. Daisy, as the core of the book, is the
representative of dreams and desires. Her voice, which is mentioned more
than once in the book, is full of money. She was born rich, vain and
affectation, but she occasionally sneered at herself, "I've been
through the world, my God, I've been through the world." She knew
that Tom had a mistress and hoped that her daughter could always be
innocent and beautiful, but on the other hand, she did not want to give
up the life of high society.Daisy herself may be contradictory, or she
may want too much. So it was almost impossible to choose between Gatsby
and Tom. At one time she loved Gatsby, but after a long and fruitless
wait, she fell in love with Tom. Why do you have to choose a favorite?
Both are the people she once loved. Perhaps, she loves most, is oneself.
The greatness of Gatsby lies in that his love is his dream. He loves
Daisy more than himself. His love is heroic and fervent, with a strong
and pure purpose. And Gates himself, as a poor young man, from a young
age will make daily plans, the pursuit of progress, even if by the
illicit way (selling bootlegging) to become a member of the upper
society, he really relies on their own efforts to achieve. He tried to
pass himself off as a gentleman of good education and wealth, and he was
more of a gentleman than Tom, and all the while he was on the way to his
dream. Unfortunately, his dream itself is a bubble. He worships Daisy
excessively, but gradually discovers her material and imperfection. His
elaborate disguise is exposed by Tom, and his firm belief that Daisy
loves him is shaken, Daisy does not love him as he imagined. He paid a
dear price for holding on to a dream too long. After the accident,
Gatsby remained in front of the house until four o 'clock, worried about
Daisy, worried about her condition, worried that Tom would embarrass
Daisy. Gatsby witnessed them talking, and the next day, Tom and Daisy
disappeared, it turned out that they were talking about running away. How
ironic! Big cities are full of wonderful scenes. A curtain is closed and
a new show is opened. The endless crowd seems to be lively, but it is
easier to wipe out individuals and become lonely. People are in a hurry
to pursue money, the pursuit of fame and wealth, the pursuit of bright
things, but the more gorgeous things, often the more unreal.
